I had a 1978 dodge d100 with power steering. I’m not sure what standard or reverse rotation even is or how to tell which one mine is. Any help figuring out this problem is greatly appreciated. I had to replace the steering gear as it is leaking.

Reverse-rotation is not a thing on any factory-built roadgoing Slant-6. That's for serpentine belt systems, which weren't used on the Slant-6 engine.

No there's something about regular and reverse rotation steering boxes
I don't remember what the deal is about that

Oh, I was thinking of P/S pumps.

Never mind, then.

Steer and gear ( if they are still in business) Columbus ohio. Rebuilt the one when I jad my '77 AW100 ramcharger 4WD.

I am sure a quick google search on the topic with mid '70's saginaw truck boxrs can lead you to some answers.

So does anyone know which one I should order? This is my daily so I don’t have time to send it off and wait for rebuild.

You probably need to do some tests with turning the steering wheel and see which way the steering box pitman arm moves. I had a friend with a 77 Ramcharger and we put a new steering box in it and it steered backwards! He actually tried to drive it, but gave up after 100 yds or so. I would talk to a rebuilder shop and get them to advise you on what to order? It is likely obvious if you look at how the steering linkages are set up too.

Seen a guy put the wrong box in and try to back out between the lift posts. Yes he crunched the side of the truck! :D
