So I checked the 4 bolts going into the torque converter, then I installed the starter.

Looking at the throttle cable, its now too long. I was using a Weber 2bbl carb, now I have a Carter bbd carb installed.

What do ya'll recommend for the throttle cable, for a stock super six setup?

Aftermarket, or boneyard scrounging?

This is a mostly stock slant six, but I'm fine with aftermarket or parts pirated from other makes, keeping in mind that I'm on a budget.

Thanks!!!

RA lists 2, both 25.5" long. :D

If memory serves, the factory one barrel cable on the F body was longer than the factory two barrel cable. I vaguely remember putting a loop on the one-barrel cable back in the mid to late 90s when I was really into Volares and installed a Super Six on the slant in my old 76 Volare Premiere sedan. There was a time in the 90s when the guys at the local Napa called me "The Volare Kid" because I was in there getting parts for my 78 Volare wagon and my 76 Volare Premiere sedan all the time.

Yes I think the 2 barrel is about 4 or 5 inches shorter. The internet says the super six cable is @ 19.5" long and it is @ the same length as the 318 cable. RA lists 19.25' - 20" cables for the 318 so one of them may be the answer.

Hey Wes
You've been all over a volare for the past while now. I have one here that's as far blown apart as one can be without getting the torch out that needs to go back together. Wanna come over and help do another while yours is fresh in your mind? It's hanging from a homemade rotisserie of sorts with floor pan facing out from the wall.... So it's wide open and easy to get to things.... Think life size revell model kit. I'm again looking for a machine shop to do the engine for my truck since my 3 month wait on a list to get that one done has been extended til late fall if I can't find someone else before then. Maybe if I do an engine for the volare at the same time I can get in somewhere faster if I now have 2 engines for someone to do the machine work on? I have 2 magnum v8s on stands and a couple more laying here to pick from.... Front end is all rebuilt and stacked in the attic, all new ball joints and bushings already put in ntio many years ago....
The only time I've been in Texas (12 or so years ago) I entered the state near the "ark la tex" area. Took I 55 down and branched off from there on my way to Houston. Not far into Texas there was a white 2 door f body that looked solid as could be, sitting next to the barn right off the interstate. I wondered how to get back there from the next exit to get a closer look and at the time to see if it could be bought....

Hey Don,
Thanks for the invite! If I had the means and I was able to get off work for a time, I might come up there.

I'm sure it would be cooler where you are than it is here in south Texas!
