Hi guys

Want to know the best header to buy for my Daughter's '68 Dart GT Super 225? Plan to install a fresh motor in the car when she's home from college in November. It has 2.5" exhaust already, and still is quiet on the road. (good fit, still quiet and will provide a little more H.P.)

Thanks,

Daddy Bob

Maybe not the highest performance option out there, but in terms of longevity, accuracy of fit, and coolness factor, I say go with a set of Dutra Duals.

If you want to keep it quiet, a header may not be the way to go...

I concur that Dutra Duals might be better in this application. Just my $.02...

Headers aren't that much louder... I have a clifford shorty into single 2.5" (or was it 2.25"?) exhaust and dynomax superturbo muffler. Its louder then stock, but not by a terrible amount. It still sounds stock-ish, not deep or very rumbly.

But I agree with the others, dutra duals would be ideal for a longer lasting solution. Coatings make headers last longer but it has to be done right, and your engine must be running 'spot on' or else the extra heat will deteriorate coatings quickly.

We need someone to make headers with stainless pipes for a slant so this wouldn't be an issue.

The "best" header is a loaded question...best for what? The street

A friend has Clifford shorty headers (they are now in my garage) The flange is too thin and we had to make spacers to get everything to seal up. For my 64 dart I chose to purchase Dutra Duals and leave the free Clifford headers in my garage.

Hi Rob,

What will you take for that Clifford in your garage?
