whew... i also installed a 4120243 about 6-8 months ago and am ready to fire my 68 cuda this weekend after i totally rebuilt it. after reading this post my stomach was in knots. i pulled the v cover on a perfectly painted engine <groan> and cranked for 25-30 secs last night and bingo...oil! i have used that cam in 3 or 4 cars and never had a problem and love the torque. i'm jumping for joy, but still feel bad for the other guys with that problem. i will always check cam measurements for that in the future. ron

Both holes in the cam must line-up to the holes in the cam bearing at the same moment or you will not get enough oil to the rocker shaft.

If you do find that the holes are off it is a pretty easy fix. In Jacks case, the mis-alignment was about .200 so it was a matter of center punching then drilling the start of a new hole right next to one of the originals. If you lay it out right, you dont have to drill much before the new hole breaks into the current one to create a flow path for the oil. A little deburr grinding and you done. This is an easy way to create a short groove, basically it is all hand drill work.
