I've been looking at the oil pumps on-line
& it seems that there is a 6 bolt style & 5 bolt style-- will they interchange?

Yes 5 & 6 bolt oil pumps interchange.
In general, 6 bolt pumps are the factory impeller size. ( 5/8 thivkness)
The 5 bolt are aftermarket units with the 7/8 or "HD" 1 inch thick impeller.
