im gonna have my transmission rebuilt in the near future and had a few questions. sometime soon after, if not when i pull the tranny, im gonna have the motor rebuilt. ill prolly put in a comp cams 252. do you guys with this cam run the stock converter? how high could i go with the stall and a 252? does anyone run a shift kit in their transmission? this is my daily driver so i dont want it to shift like a race car but id like for them to be good and firm. any suggestions on this stuff?

The 252 is pretty mild and will work ok with the stock converter.
IF you change the converter, keep it mild or you'll be wasting your power band.
Make sure your cruise rpm is above the stall speed.
Remember, stall is a function of engine torque as well as converter design, so a slant will usually stall a particular converter lower than a V8 would, etc.

Most shift kits have "options" like race vs. street/towing. Use the street recommendations.
B+M makes a nice kit, very easy to install, and I've been pleased with the results.
