Aside from this being a super nit-picky question, someone out there knows the answer.

What is the correct placement for front and rear bumperguards on a '60 valiant? There are two sets of holes on the front and rear bumpers: one set which is further towards the ends, and another which is closer to the middle.

I was under the impression that both front and rear sets go on the holes further to the outside. However, I've seen some cars that have them placed on the inside set of holes.

Does anyone know the answer? Thanks.

The fronts go on the outer bolts which line up in between the headlights, the rears look like it is up to personal preference. My 60 had the rears mounted on the outside beneath the back-up lamps(59k 1 owner car). The 60&61 service manuals (pictures on 2nd page in manual) show them on the outside on the wagon(tailgate clearance?) & 60 manual shows nothing on a sedan but the 61 shows them inside on a sedan. 61 manual says nothing about the bumpers or guards, 60 manual says bumpers attach to support bars attached to body(that's it)
