Seriously, that would be neat to stick on your car. Do you have the ECM for it? Since it looks like throttle body injection I think you pretty much have the most expensive pieces(though, there still are some expensive items left I believe, like getting the ECM if you don't have it). If you don't want to convert to TBI take the throttle body off and sell it, buy a 4-barrel carb(I don't remember the size that's good for a slant) and set your slant up with it. Whichever you choose that has some potential for helping out the performance of your slant.

I'm going to use it for a Megasquirt injection project on Mr. Duster. That's a 750-CFM 4-injector TBI from Auto-nomics. The inserts in the venturies take it down to about 450 CFM. The wire is to the throttle position sensor. The TBI alone is a mere $75, inserts $25, TPS $27.

I have the MS, just haven't assembled it yet. I have completed a MS TBI conversion on my '77 Ramcharger, though. The link for that is here.

Nice job on the Ramcharger, and looks like a cool setup for your Slant.

Holy heck, those are good prices on EFI from that company. Have they been around a while?

This all looks very cool and the price is excellent. What injectors does the TB use? How are the secondary injectors wired/controlled to make them progrssive?

This TB would be a perfect match on my work truck where we are now CFM limited by the Rochester 220. It certainly has advantages over the rather crude 454/502 version of the 220. This looks tailor made for off-road and towing torque. I wonder if this is overkill on a slant under 275 HP.

You bought that throttle body for $75 off the shelf? Wow. Did it include injectors, and if so, can you tell me more about them? I hadn't been able to find that TB on their site, but if they're that cheap, I am going to run out and buy one right now. That'll be a great quick way to put EFI on my Dart.

It says "4 injector" throttle body but did they mean 4 barrel? I don't see any place for injectors on it...

Wow, those are good prices GP. Keep us posted on the slant conversion (dare I say Article? ). I have been following your MS thread at RCC very closely----you almost have me ready to try out the MS myself!

Loooks like the injectors go on the side pointing at an angle into the venturi. Those holes might be the same as the generic GM or Holley tbi design. 38lb injectors x 4 = a lot of fuel. A lot more than I can mix and squeeze.
I want to know how the back injectors know when the throttles are open. Will it run closed loop?

Perhaps that fancy TPS and wiring kit are the key.

The TPS (throttle position sensor) tells the computer, with fair precision, how wide the throttle blades are open. That along with the MAP/MAF sensor lets the computer emulate functions of the carb.

Ah, OK, I see it now. I also see it apparently doesn't include injectors. I might pull them out of a junkyard car if the Nippondenso ones I have don't fit (they're 42 lb/hr ones in case I managed to wring 350 hp out of a turbo slant... 4 of them in a TBI unit ought to be good for at least 250 hp!). I will order one of those soon.

If your using a megasquirt, as long as you meet the minimum injector size it doesn't matter how big you go. You can essentially turn a 100lb/hr injector into a 50lb/hr injector by setting the PWM variable to 50%.

Yes, $75 brand new, but that does not include injectors or the TPS.

Here's a pic with it outfitted. Fuel rails like this can be used, or you can use injectors with spigot connectors and use hoses.



Both sets of venturis open together. Bruce at Auto-Nomics will do the machine work to install the TPS for $30, well worth it IMHO. He also has injectors all the way down to 18 lb.

Did you order the fuel rail(s) from the same site? I did not see the setup pictured above in their parts list, but there was one fuel-rail that had no picture..
