my transmission is starting to slip but it does it worse after ive been driving for a while and the car starts to get hot. i noticed that after my super six swap, when i had larger exhaust put on, one of the tranny cooling lines run within about a 1/2 inch of the exhaust. could this be adding to my slipping problem because the tranny is getting hot?

It can also be that clutch plates (or what they are called) are lived up their lives. I had that problem. Rebuilding trans helps and helps a lot.

Heat will Kill an automatic transmission real quick the line closer to the exhaust pipe is really adding a lot of heat to the fluid. The main reason you have a cooler line is to get rid of the heat in the fluid, Move the line away from the pipe.

After installing my clifford headers I had to tweak the lines because of the new exhaust. Even then it still comes close to the exhaust like yours. I was always meaning to make new lines for them but never got around to it.

If your worried about it, wrap the exhaust pipe and tranny lines with something like header wrap as insulation.
