I have a fuel sender that has electrical problems. The mechanicals
seem fine. The windings may be the only problem. Does anyone know
if the resistance wire is available somewhere?

Has anyone rewound these or used a GM sender with good results?

The sender is for a 61 Valiant and as such replacements are not cheaply
available.

I have seen rebuilding services advertised for these in Hemmings Motor News and on various Mopar webrings; looks like it can be done. Also, a new float (just the float, not the whole sender) can be had from Ford.

There is a replacement sender in the parts database that works for the '63 up A body, but I don't know how different your '61 is.
