Does a torque converter drain if you shut off the oil supply?
I cannot remember if I posted about this here, or .com.
The thing was to shut off oil to the converter with a solenoid-valve, to get some rpms when launching, and a normal tight converter when on the road.
I have most of the hydraulic stuff sorted out, but I have no idea if it will drain?
It would be a waste to do this project if I have to get under the car and drain every time I launch...

The converter would "drain back" to about 1/2 full but these is no good way to shut-off the oil flow to it.

Besides, if you did shut-off the oil flow the converter would quickly overheat and fail.
