Does anybody have a 904 out of an A-body they can measure for me? I have a 904 out of a slant powered B-body ('69 Satellite) and I need to find out if it is the same length as an A-body 904. My tranny is 31-3/4 inches long total and the tailshaft housing is 15-3/4 inches. Can anybody tell me if this is the same length as an A-body 904?
Thanks!

Thanks Russ! I doubt if Mopar would make 2 different 904's that are only 3/4" difference in length and I think my eyeball could be off by that much, so I'm thinking that my B-body tranny will bolt into an A-body with no modifications.

My old a-body 904 went right into a b-body.
I have never heard of different lengths on the same type trans, except the early 727/6 with the adapter.

I have a cable operated slant 904 that absolutely does not fit my '64 Valiant (225, Pushbutton/cable 904). The case is similar but different, and the tail housing is longer. The transmission mount will not line up, etc.

I can tell you from first-hand experience just yesterday that our slant six with a 904 measured at close to 5'-3" overall.

More to come about that experience.

Slantvaliant, I have one of those long tail PB trasmissions, also. Don't know what it is from. Maybe a truck or van?

I wish I knew what it fit. It'd be easier to sell, if I need the space and cash ...
