In everyones opinion, what are the best economical wheels that can be put on a '74 dodge dart swinger?

Why not stay stock? If yours got ruined somehow they are all over the junkyards. If your 74 has 4.5" bolt circle your choices improve because you can now look into ford and chevy wheels as well.

I believe you have the big bolt pattern on your 74.Therefore the best economical wheels would be the stock steel wheels.Rallyes would be your next choice.But if I had your car with the big bolt pattern I would go for some cop wheels,with some dog dishes or no caps at all.

what are cop wheels? and i dont care to throw a little money into them. You wouldnt go with billet wheels or alluminum wheels? I was looking at putting some mags on it.

Cop car wheels are steel wheels that they put on chrysler cop cars.You can put anything on your car you want,I happen to be a Mopar purist,so I stick with Mopar parts.

Remember what your Question was.Best economical wheels.Well that would leave Alum and billet wheels out of the pic.

...actually, if you're a good shoper, you can probably find some cool secondhand aluminum "mags" (like slots) pretty cheep for the 4.5 bolt pattern.

YEAH! stick to the cop wheels. I have 13'' steel wheels on my car and it screams U.S.A. Dont support the spinner scene~ some people see them and laugh. "buy a new car" yeah right

Ask at a wrecking yard for BBP 14x6 or 7 mags. They will likely be cheap.

My Mags with BFG TA 235/60 14 tires were $100

I bet that looked retarded... See it where I live all the time, which is bad enough, then all the "reality" TV car shows and car mags have to hype it, too... Sorta like blinged out vans in the 70's...

I got a set of cop car wheels that I just refinished for my car. they are 15x7's and have something like 4 1/4" backspacing. They seem to fit fine and I love they way they look ( I sanded them and painted them argent silver) I don't think you could go wrong with those. I put out a message on moparts.com and found someone close by that had a set in good shape and got 4 for $100...

be careful about buying on ebag, they go anywhere for $125 to $250 on there

Good advice. I also think $100 is fair for a decent set of cop wheels anymore (unless you find them in the junkyard in which case you just ask how much "for those old steel wheels")

I am really getting fed up with "eBag" (I like that!) and stupid people in general. I noticed sellers opening up bidding on HP big-block exhaust manifolds for $300 - I saw others bid up all the way past $250. This is asinine, folks. There are at least six sets of those manifolds on eBag at any one time, so hype plays into it way more than supply/demand in my book.

I have a set of the coveted '70 340 manifolds in my closet, paid $40 for them a few years back. I've seen them selling for $400. I'm holding on to those, not because I plan to wait until they're worth more than gold on eBag then sell and retire... No I might have a small-block car that needs them one day, and I don't want to have to pay some jerk's "ransom" - That's the flip-side to artificially inflated prices... You get people like me then hoarding useful stuff cause they can't afford to buy it back in the future!

Enough of this rant! Back to wheels!!!

Hey, The wheels Dennis Weaver mentioned and Sandy in BC has on the red Valiant in the picture are the same as the four I have for sale right now. No curbrash to speak of, decent brushed finish also. They are the L.B.P. wheels and will fit your car if you have disc brakes up front. If you do not and have drums up front you have S.B.P. wheels. The wheels I have are two sizes. The front are 14X7 and the rear are 14X8.5. I have them listed at $100 for all four of them. They came off a 75 Dart Sport. Thanks,
