welll i am in dire need of some help. i have gone about 50 miles on 18 g of gas. i havent done a great deal to this engine besides a new radiator. and that shouldnt have anything to do with it. it is a 1 bbl stock carb and i havent touched it. is it the carb jets or is it something else that is sucking gas. also i should mention i put a 2.5" dual pipes on it 2 weeks ago.

We need way more info. What mileage were you getting before? Which "1 bbl stock carb" are you running, in what kind of vehicle, with how many miles on it, etc?

2.5" dual exhaust is way too big. It'll hurt your low-end torque and mileage, but not enough to cause you to get 2.8 mpg.

A mixture so rich as to give less than 3mpg will not allow the engine to run -- not even close -- so we need to start looking for leaks and other problems. Yank your engine oil dipstick and see if it smells of gasoline. If so, your fuel pump diaphragm has ruptured. And don't overlook the possibility that somebody siphoned off your gasoline. Sometimes the best mileage device is a locking gas cap and/or a mean dog.

hi one thing you can check is your gas tank i went threw that before and i found out my gas tank was leaking because if you are yousing that much gas your engine would probably stall one way to check is to get a news paper and put it under your gas tank when you park it at night and see how soaked it gets
