A muffler's job is to "muffle". I would say you got a bargain.

What makes your Flowmaster a good muffler is how easy it is for the exhaust gas to flow through it. That is usually why theyre louder, because to make less restriction, you need the exhaust to flow straight through.

You don't buy a hotrod muffler to make your car louder. It's supposed to make your car faster, not louder.

If all you want to do is make your car loud why don't you just take the old muffler and punch a hole in it.Image

why stop there eh? Just get rid of it. Hell, bend the pipes in front of the rear wheels. You'll hear it then.

Be glad its quiet! I can only hope mine will be when I get it setup later this summer

Personally, I'd be kinda disapointed if my car didn't sound "badass" after spending big $$ on a flowmaster setup. I realize some guys want their cars nice and quiet, but it is really a matter of taste. It doesn't make someone an idiot for liking their "hot rod" to sound like one! I like the neighbors to know when I get home late, and I like the sound my car makes to be in direct relation to what's under the hood. I also don't commute in my car, I cruise a little on the weekends. Twenty-five years ago, I preffered to listen to a tuned 340 coming through duals than the radio, but hey, that only lasted 10 years or so. To each his own. Drill some holes in those puppies!

If you want it loud, why get a muffler?
Get a straight pipe instead.
If I got a big$$$ muffler, it better muffle...

well....there is LOUD and then there is having a certain sound - I like some ballsy rumble. The high $$$ for a muffler, I guess it should muffle...

i felt the same way when i got my 40 series flowmaster. all the talk around here made me think it was gonna be extremely loud. i feel its on the verge of being too quiet. thats just me. hard to discuss opinions on sounds over the internet i guess.

How about you guys make some recordings and post them? If you make a wav file i'll host it and people can compare what their setup may sound like?

Just a thought
