Hey there crowd

to anyone familiar with dakota's 5 speed trannys, I need to know how much fabrication is involved in this swap, if someone knows gearing ratios, and if the shifter is on the side, like the A833 trans or is "centered". I would love to find a manual trans not to hard to stuff in that leaves extra leg room. I'm long and wide... the A833 shifter placing ain't the best if you ask me.

everybodys "2 cents" counts, but I'm especially looking forward to get "first hand" info, meaning someone that actually has swapped one dakota 5 speed into an A body. My car's floorpan, rails and trans mount are pretty much the same as for american 67 dart 4 doors.

Someone did put a dak trans (in an a-body??)
IIRC the dakota came with at least 3 different transmissions.
I think he used the 3.9 v6 one.
It is out there somewhere on this site...
