Of course, what was I thinking? 170/164 is much closer (103.7%) than 231/225 (102.7%).
The tune-up?
Put it on.
Start it.
Drive it.

If I don't say anything, am I still wrong?
Since I have never run a 225, only a 170, I was thinking in terms of of that engine, sorry. You are correct, about the 25, and I am also correct, about the 170. But either turbo is pretty hard to find in a salvage yard.

PS: Why do you delete so many posts?

Which one do you like driving better, turbo or nitrous?
I like them both. The nitrous car, launches harder, but the turbo runs more mph, in the quarter. The nitrous makes a ton of low end torque, the turbo more in the mid to upper rpm. Also the Cuda weighs 3250, and the Valiant is about 2900 lbs. on the starting line.
A turbo can be "sized" to make bottom end torque, also, mine wasn't. Just look at the 60 foot times the Drake's Simca pulls.

How about for a car that is a daily driver plus sees occasional dragstrip duty? With gas at $2.65 a gallon, what is the impact of a turbo on MPG?
I assume that the nitrous holds the advantage in this area.

Because a nitrous kit includes most of the parts you need to install it. Adapting a turbo to a slant six often requires a considerable amount of machine work. If you have welding equipment, a Sawzall, and a milling machine, you might be able to adapt a $50 junkyard turbo for just the cost of some scrap and welding wire. But if you have to pay a machine shop, the costs can go up. And this assumes you are going to try to use the stock carb, ignition, and fuel system.

I've spent around $2,000 on my turbo buildup so far, and it's not even finished yet. Over $1,000 of that is for fuel injection components - machine work on the manifold, injectors, a Megasquirt ECU, a $200 wideband oxygen sensor controller, and more. I could have done things more cheaply, but I want to cut as few corners as possible.
