Update on my 68. Previous details at:

http://www.slantsix.com/UBB/Forum4/HTML/000051.html
http://home.nc.rr.com/madsenkaestle/68%20Dart%20270/

MP-EFI running on the car since 5/22/05. Megasquirt driven. Very smooth on first startup and no fuel leaks. Noisy fuel pump, as Dartvader observed. Lots of tuning to do, but it's very driveable with just 1/2 hr of tweaks.

Cheers,

Lou

I actually went from carb to MPI. TBI is still on the 64 Dart, where it will stay for a while. Hard to compare the two systems as the motor builds are so different. The MPI seems smoother and responds better to tuning, it seems.

It already runs better than my well tuned Hly 500 2bbl, except some accel enrichment tuning is needed for a few minor bogs.

Lou,

What did you use for a throttle body on the MPI?

John,

I actually bought a complete Offy 4bbl man with rail and bungs installed, had been run on a car, off Ebay for a screaming BIN deal. TB was bolted on and I think it's a late 80s/early 90s GM 3.8L unit.

Also have a 2000 Mustang GT 4.6L TB that I haven't used yet. Got it off Ebay for $27 shipped as a take off when someone upgraded their 'stang TB. Late model stangs are great for cheap takeoff parts...

MJ,

Yes, I have a good photo from Willow Springs north of LA.

Lou

BIN deals are great. That's how I got my gas cap. If only the seller knew that the cap in the back of the picurte was cooler than the 1bbl carter carb.

At Pierre's request, I have now uploaded my .msq parameter files from my 68 and 64 Darts onto my (primitive) webpage.

Look in:

http://home.nc.rr.com/madsenkaestle/64%20Dart%20270/

and

http://home.nc.rr.com/madsenkaestle/68%20Dart%20270/

The files are called "megasquirtBLAHBLAH.msq".

If those don't work for you MS users, PM me with your email and I'll send them.

Thanks,

Lou

Tried to take a look, but windows could not open file. It needed to know what program file was created in.

You have to open them using "megasquirt configurator" or "megatune" software. Download them to your computer first by right clicking on link, or your browser should prompt you.

Hey Lou,

I am sure this has been asked and answered but I haven't been able to find it searching through old posts. here or on .com Does your website have pictures of your tranny tunnel mods to fit the A-500 tranny? I would just look at the website but I am getting a page cannot be found message thus the question here. I have seen the posts stating you plan on getting back under it to box in the mods to the cross member and I may have missed the post where you stated you have done this already. I am picking up an A-500 for possible install into a 72 Swinger and as hoping to get a visual of what mods you made to the X-member and tranny mount. I have seen the photos on the Hot Rod mag website (B-body and 518), but they only show the x-member mod with the tranny in and maybe I am just having a hard time visualizing it but it looks to me like they didn't do a very good job with the mod to the rear tranny mount.

Brian

There are no pics up yet. Let me work on that, or I can email you some.

For some reason, roadrunner has dumped my webpage!

Thanks,

Lou
