I have a 1964 Dart with push button shift 904 trans. Trans (rear pump) is bad. I have a "donor" car 1965 Plymouth Valiant with a one year old rebuilt trans. The Valiant is a column shift. Any problems getting the push button cable shift mated to the column shift trans ? Thanks !

Yep, you can use a '65 trans with minor modifications. See threads Here and Here.

Just install the valve body from the 64 PB trans in the 65 column shift trans. I would also swap out the speedo gear on the end of the cable, in case they are different ratios.

Related info if you can't rebuild your cable-shift transmission, or find a replacement: Imperial Services can make pushbutton and '65 console or column shifters work with '66-up 904 transmissions.
http://www.imperialservices.net/Imperia ... 0Parts.htm
Scroll about halfway down.
I'd prefer to keep my cable shift transmission, but it's nice to have an option.

I have both console and column shift adapter kits from Imperial Services and both are first class all the way.

I've heard good things about Imperial Services' stuff.

However, in three years of intermittent attempts, they have never returned an e-mail I've sent them, and I've never been able to get them on the phone. Eventually I just gave up. Have they got their shìt together now?
