In the process of switching my lights to Dan's lighting I managed to goof up a few things. As it turns out the biggest goof I made was messing with the FLD connection from my alternator (green). This alternator has been around quite a while and evidently so has this wire and its connector. The wire was already frayed and I exaserbated the problem to the point of near destruction. I didn't notice and later found my recharge system not working. Thanks to AAA I only waited 5 minutes with my daughter in tow. Dead battery. I found the frayed wire this a.m. Thanks Dan for all of your help. I'm looking forward to seeing well again at night.

1.Am I right in assuming that the frayed wire caused my battery and recharge problem?
2. Can I use an off the shelf connector (like the ones on car speaker wires) to replace the one I clipped off?
thanks,
Still waiting to hear from the admin. so I can stop being a guest?
