We are about to finish my son's '74 Dart Sport. As soon as all the under dash items get put back in place, we'll install the dash pad and windshield. Then carpet and seats. After that, I don't want to be crawling around under the dash again.

After three years, I can't remember what held up the fuse box and where it actually goes. Right now it is just dangling down below the dash from its wiring harness.

Well, in my ´71 Duster is located at the left side under dash and is hold by a single screw close to dash edge.

Some years had a little hinge that flippe down the fusebox when you needed to access it.

Does your '74 Duster have the infamous seat belt interlock system? If so, would you mind sometime taking a look under the dash near the fuse block to see if you have a 2"x4" plastic housing (3746849) mounted nearby and how it is. Might have just been a Dart thing.

Yes I have the seat belt interlock system but it's unhooked at the seats. I have a 2X4 plastic housing mounted nearby too with all sorts of electrical things on the inside such as resistors and whatnots. I removed it and the car won't start without it so I plugged it back in. Wondered what that was, thanks for telling me. Whats wrong with yours, tore up or something?

No, that interlock control and the fuse box were just hanging from the wires and I knew that wasn't right. I was looking for someone who could tell me how they should be mounted under the dash. I finally figured it out, after I went back through our box of parts we stashed away while rebuilding Aaron's Dart. I found a bracket bent in a peculiar way with a little plastic box mounted on one end (turns out to be the "key in buzzer").
I got the puzzle figured out and now everything is tucked up under the dash neatly.
