Last I heard, Jeeps will be getting the new 3.8 or 4.0 V6 to replace the AMC.

I have the old 3.8 in a Grand Caravan and love it, except for the lack of torque at highway speeds. It will light up the tires from a stop and merge onto the freeway like a V8, but in the mountains, it's embarrassing.

It's a 3.7, and it's been steadily replacing the Jeep 4.0 inline Six since 2002 with the replacement of the Cherokee by the Liberty. The only remaining application of the 4.0 inline Six is the Wrangler, and that'll probably get the 3.7 (or get cancelled altogether) before too long. Haven't seen any plans for a new 3.8 or 4.0 V6, got a link?

The 4.3 GM is widely used in the lift truck industry. The main problem we see out of them is severe duty ones will always sink the exhaust valves in the seats and sometimes crack the heads. Other than that they have been rock solid.

The 3.8 Buicks were pretty solid engines too. I have a friend who runs a garage who hates GM and Mopar with a passion, but even he says a 3.8 is second only to a Slant in reliability. :D

Meril Bruner has a 225 in a Dak. I think it must be running by now. I saw it 3 months ago and it was almost running. Could be a nice daily driver, but lots of firewall work to get it to fit. I think he's shooting for 8s or 9s in the 1/8th with it.
