I have driven "classic" Mopars since 1975, I don't think I will ever have a new car as a daily driver, it is not my 'way'.

I like a car that is reliable, economical, performs well and stands-out in the crowd, a 60's SL6 car is all of that.

Things I do to my cars.... anti-sway bars, good shocks, brakes, wheels and tires. A sweet running drive line is also good but truth is, SL6 A-Bodies are pretty tough and can run well with simple maintainance & tuning.

Do I worry about my car getting lost or stolen, not really, I have some extras around, just in case.

I've owned my 66 Dart for about two years now and drive it as often as possible. It's just now wise to drive my Dart when the roads are covered with salt and brine for winter driving which equals rust here in the midwest. I carpool and my rider's always get a kick out of riding to work in my Dart. My daily driver is a 96 Chrysler Concorde with 177,000 miles on it-it has moe miles than my Dart. The Dart gets about 20 mpg and cruises well at highway speeds (70+mph).
Anyways....just my 2 cents worth
Todd

Howdy Senator,

I've got a 68 dart. I got it because it is easy and cheap to fix and it looks like a real car... not a jellybean with wheels or a status symbol that is
taller than it is wide (read SUV Stupid Ugly Vehicle).

The wiring is brittle and the upolstrey is shot, the gas gauge only works
on humid days.

Once the AC is charged and the seats are fixed and that noisy wheel bearing gets changed it will be a daily driver.

It runs fine but you have to let it warm up on cold days because the carb
will bog on acceleration till it's warm. Probably needs a carb rebuild.

Rear window seal is rusted and leaks into the trunk but I fixed it (untill the
body gets repainted) with silicone caulk.

The radio does not work. 67,000 original miles.

We love our slant 6 mobiles, bone stock or race ready or anything in between!
