My rocker arm adjusters have worn out and I'm in the market for new ones. Only trouble is trying to find them. Aftermarket seems to be void of oem replacments - AE Clevlite 2142045 are no where to be found - kragen can't get them, napa can't get them, nada.

Other then shelling out mucho deniro for rollers, are there any other options I'm not aware of? This is for a daily driver commuter engine, nothing fancy needed. Rollers would be way overkill, but if I must then I must.... www.rockerarms.com has remanufactured ones - but I'm not sure how you can remanufacture worn threads on those things. Maybe something can be had from our fellow slanters in the land down under?

Before I go with the squeeze the adjuster screws in the vice idea - has anyone used screw w/locknuts, something like these, http://store.yahoo.com/chucker54/rocarmadnuts.html on stock slant rockers?

Well, new rocker arms come with new adjustors, and new stock-type rocker arms are readily available in the aftermarket, so you could go that way. But I think you just got a defective NAPA counterman; the adjustor screws you need are P/N 2141022 in their engine parts line; showing for $2.49/ea at www.napaonline.com . That said, it is possible new adjustor screws won't sufficiently tighten up the adjustment. If the rocker arm threads are wallered out, then the new adjustor screws will still turn too loosely. You may want to buy one new adjustor screw and try it out in a few of your existing rocker arms, then you won't have much double expenditure if it turns out you need some new arms.

Naw I think the guy was legit I've been going to him at that napa for over a decade....

He said its a good # but no one has them anywhere.

They are listed online on both kragen and napaonline but I have no idea wether or not they can actaully deliver. $19.50/piece on napaonline.com, $234/12... yeouch!

I got a set of rebuilts from RAS. They have been absolutely perfect. They were on the car at St. Louis when I made the 110mph blast, so they do stay in adjustment.

They were about $85 shipped to me, and they did not want cores.

Dan I asked for the whole rocker not just the screw. Sorry for the confusion.

I bought a NOS set of rocker arms on E-bay, a couple of weeks ago. Before I bid, I checked with sealed power for pricing. Arms are no longer available, shaft is. Mopar dealer in NJ had some in stock for about $15.00 each.

A couple of my rockers kept coming lose after the deck shave and big valve swap....I used 3/8 fine thread "half nuts" as locks....works fine....reminds me of foreign cars.....

Procedure: adjust valves like normal....tighten locknut(jam nut)

I think the whole set cost $3.60 .... $.30ea?

Hmm... I found one of your posts previously saying they were $10. Even now, wether you can get them or not, are listed for about double. Either they stoped making them or supply has significantly dropped... seeing as no one has them I'm starting to lean towards no one makes them anymore theory... who knows. If it comes down to it I'll try to order online seeing as how everyone locally says they can't get them, then I'll see if they can deliver.

Usually rockauto.com has everything on their website. They have a listing for the shaft but not rocker, coincides with what Charlie said.
Sandy - which rocker screws are you using? I have what I believe are stock ones on my car - but there is no where near enough threads left exposed above the rocker to use a locknut. Or do you put the locknut on the bottomside of the rocker...? If my screws were long enough I would of deffinately used a locknut without hesitation.

I used Chev valves that are 10 longer and decked my block 60 and my head 25. Using a "half nut" that is half the depth of a regular nut worked fine. I was actually able to use a full nut till I got my half nuts.

Hasn't been my experience lately; I've run into messy and prolonged backorders and "Oops, heheh, we kind of can't actually supply that" situations the last four orders I've placed. Hope it's just a spell of bad luck.
