For some reason i am getting very little fire to my 225. The sparks, spark cable, coil, distributor cap, rotor bug, ballast resistor have all been changed... I am goin tro buy another modulator (looks like the ballast but with FIVE prongs) i know what it is but not real sure what its called. I hooked it up to a battery tester and got no amps running through it... I know there isnt much to the ignition system, so if i buy that it should start? Any other help would be appreciated. Also has anyone rewired the wires that run from the coil? They are getting badly fraid and need replacing... I saw the diagrahms in the Article section and they help but i still would like some input from ya'll Thank you

Dave

make sure you check those wires before you purchase anything else. there may be an electrical problem. you might have the wires hooked up to the coil incorrectly. i did, and $60 later, after a new coil and modulator, i realized that a wire on the positive side of the coil, was suppose to go to the negative side. get a shop manuel. and check everything. twice

Showing my age here, but that's the Crazy World of Arthur Brown, and I think the song's called "Fire." 1967 or 1968. Great song, should have been used for a Mallory or Accel commercial.

DING DING DING!!!! You win a prize! That is correct! "Fire" from "The Crazy World of Arthur Brown." first heard that song on a local classic rock station. Saturday mornings they have a show called "Crow's Psychedelic 60s" hosted by a guy who has been a DJ since then. I liked the song so much I bought a copy of the album on e-Bay.

I never heard of that other band, maybe they covered it?

Anyway, back to the original topic of this post, the HEI ignition conversion is VERY simple and I recommend you do it. It is easier to maintain and if you are going to be re-wiring anyway i say just go to a better system.

Click on the word "fire". You should be able to scrounge this system together for under $30 using junkyard parts and wiring.

And what are you doing up so late? Don't you have school tomorrow? Quit screwing around on the internet and go to sleep!

Hey, thats kind of what I did! I bailed on high school in my junior year, got my GED and went to community college. I got my Associates degree when I was 19 and had my bachelor's degree when I was 21. I took two years off and then went to law school. I got my law degree when I was 26 and now I am a practicing attorney at 27! I figure it was better to get all the schooling over with when I was younger so I can enjoy life longer.
