Hi all,

Inspired by an old post in which Avenger2040 and argentina-slantsixer talked about these Mexican headers, I first did a Google search then found out I would need to do a Mexican Google search, and I found what I was looking for:

Slant Six headers by Headers García

There is no photo or anything, so I was wondering if one of our Spanish speaking members could confirm that these are the slant six headers. I'd be willing to give these a try...but I'm wondering about shipping costs/import duties. Always cool to see the other options out there!

Ok Patrick, I think prize will be cheap, header cost is 163 dollars, shipping is other thing, but atleast you got headers prize.

Thanks. The only catch I see here is that I have to register before I could order. It looks like they will only ship to Mexico? Maybe I can figure this out on my next day off.

Do you have any idea if they are dual outlet or 6 into 1 or what?

Edit: I tried registering, and I ran into problems. (some kind of server error, so the order could not be processed)

I think they are double, I will make a call and let you know about that also if they can send outside Mexico.

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The engine fitment is all the same, but there are a lot of different cars between '64 and '78, with differently-shaped engine compartments and different obstacles in the way. And there's no difference between a '63 engine compartment and a '64, in an A- or B-body. And there's no difference between a '78 engine compartment and a '79 or '80, in an F-body, or between a '79 and an '80, '81, '82, '83, '84, '85, '86, '87, in an M-body. Likewise with trucks, no difference in the engine compartment between a '78 and a '79-'88.

Probably a good idea to ask careful questions here before ordering. It would be a nuisance to order the headers only to find they don't fit your car.

(Me, I'm curious about their header for Dart-K/Spirit/Shadow 4-cil. Wish I could see a picture! If no picture, maybe they would answer if the header fits both 2.2 and 2.5 engines, and how it differs from the factory header used on the 2.5 from 1987 to 1990.)

Thanks Avenger, I sent you a private message.

My '68 Dart has manual steering and some room to play with compared to the smaller A-bodies. Maybe I can be the guinea pig for everyone here, as far as these headers are concerned.Image

My only real reservation is about the things actually getting through customs.

Speaking as someone who has extensive NAFTA border experience (US/Canada) both with products and people (me) crossing the border, I can tell you NAFTA did nothing but enrich the MBAs and outsource jobs.

Sorry, I was speaking sarcasticly. Should have added this to the end of my statement:

Didn't Mexican a-body production continue until 78? I thought that there were some Mexican A-body chargers made in the late 70s, but I could be wrong.

Nope, you're thinking of South America and Australia, where the A-body chassis was used through the early '80s. The Mexican car lineup was pretty much identical to the North American one, year by year, except for badging (the F-bodies were Darts and Valiant Volarés) and some differences in the Dodge Truck product line.
