should be a small metal latch lurking from underneath the front grill. turn it to the left and the safety should let the hood pop up a little bit. reach under the hood and press up around the middle on the latch (lever holding the hood down), that should allow you to pull her up

Does anyone have photos of a '70 Dart hood latch? It's different from my '64, or I'd go shoot some for you.

On my 64 there isn't enough space between the hood and grill to get my fingers in there for the first latch, so I really had to look to find the latch the first time I opened the hood........(a latch can't be there because how do you get to it if your fingers don't fit)

I usually use a screwdriver, but a key will work if necessary........

I intentionally set-up my Dacuda's front sheetmetal in a way where I can just slip my fingers in to pop the hood release. Even people who know where a 64 Dart hood release is located have a hard time getting to that car's latch.
People who do not know where the latch is will never get the hood open. (without a crowbar)
Needless to say, my battery has never been stolen.
