Does anyone know the original diameter of a Ford 300 6cyl exhaust pipe? Thought I seen someone adapt the ford exhaust pipe for the slant exhaust pipe.

Ummm...why mess with "adapting" a pipe from another car?

Just have a pipe made to your specs for your car.

Well, there are multiple diameters of slant six pipes, and I have no idea about fords. I do know they make weld/clamp-on reducers and expanders (assuming you are talking about changing actual pipe diameters) in just about any combination to suit your fancy. You should be able to get them from any decent parts store/muffler shop. If you mean the flange where it bolts up, you're back in 'I have no idea' land. Dan does raise a good question though; what exactly do you think you're gaining here?

I was thinking, I can get an exhaust pipe at the auto store. There is one for my truck, but it probably isn't 2.25in diameter. So, I was wondering if the diameter of the ford would be larger. I don't have a lot of $$ and was trying to piece a larger diameter exhaust together over time. I might have to just get the oem from the store and work from there. What would be the cost of someone building the exhaust; at least the exhaust before the cat.

Found it.

From skidderdriver:
After cleaning up a stock manifold and grinding it out to 2 1/4"(to go with my super 6 intake),I wanted a way to attach a head pipe stub.As I dont have access to a welder till logging season starts ,I figured out something different.I cut a 2 1/4" headpipe off of one side of my old F250/390.It has a lip and donut style seal to the manifold so I pulled the donut off and ground out my manifold till it slid in to the lip.The lip now sits on the gasket with the retaining ring clamp bolted over it.There are 4 photos here.

Im going to use mandrel bent 45s and stainless band clamps to take the exhaust under the car and back to the muffler.
