In 1776 this was the land of the free and the home of the brave.

In 2001 this is now the land of the PC and home of the over regulated.

Without getting *too* political about it all, I'm not real sure how free we really are these days. Seems like whether it's cars or books or fireworks or whatever, we've permitted ourselves to become a nanny-state where freedoms are exchanged one-by-one for assurances that the government will save us from ourselves. I don't like it. Bah. I need to go drive my Slant-6 now.

Well, The USA has it's problems but I do feel that we still have a lot of personal choice and liberty, especially when compaired to other places on the planet. I agree that it seems a bit silly when I have to buy sparklers for the kids in the next town, seeing that the Silicon Valley officals here are so concerned about our safety.

I did not mean to start an "off-topic" thread, I just wanted to wish everyone a nice 4th and used the 225 B-Day thing as an excuse to wave my SL6 flag!
