I'm new to the forum and was wondering how many pick-up truck folks there are. I have a 87 D100 4 spd. which is in process. I have done the Super 6 conversion as well as exhaust. I am presently preparing to install an earlier dist and HEI module to eliminate the SCC.

I've got and '82 D150 long bed, two wheel drive. I'm currently in the middle of an engine swap, but until this weekend it had the stock motor. The SCC was converted back to standard EI for reliability reasons. Not gonna lie; it was a bit of a dog before the engine swap; hopefully it's a lot better after.

I've got an '89 long-bed D100 and wish it were either (a) gone or (b)slant-equipped. But it's got a 318 with Holley PND injection. :-\

Paid $200 for truck cuz I wanted the trans. Replaced the clutch and fixed the clutch linkage then gave it to my father to use as a beater work truck. I've had it since june '04 and I personally have drove it less than 4 miles. He's racked up about 10k miles.

Hey, wanna sell me your old SCC? I always liked the replacement Ram hood ornament JC Whitney sells that has light-up eyes.

That's definately where the insperation came from. But my method was slightly less invasive. The old spring was so loose the damn thing would turn to look at me going down the highway. I went to Lowes with the Ram Head in hand and found a long bolt that would mostly thread right. I didn't have the tools to re-thread. I bought a long bolt, large washer and a two pack of springs. I did drill the original hole through the hood just large enough to accomidate the bolt. I assembled it all by the light of a flashlight with the help of a neighbor. I used both springs as one wasn't quite long enough.

How much you want to pay for the SCC? Cheapest from NC to WA through UPS is about $10.

And JCW's RAM is noticably smaller than the original.

Hi 87!

I mess around with an older D100...a '64 stepside. It has a much improved 225 with Dutra Dual exhaust manifolds, Offenhauser 4 bbl intake, Edelbrock 500cfm carb, milled, decked, ported, oversize valves, race cam, new valve seals, new 11 inch clutch, flywheel and pressure plate, Pertronix ingnition and chrome engine externals. Also a A833OD, Howe hydraulic throwout bearing and Tilton 3/4 inch clutch cylinder, Ray Suiter front disc brake conversion, new rear end with 3.91 Suregrip, new rear axles, seals, Green Bearings, new brakes and all new brake parts, cylinders and hoses, new backing plates, new axle housing, new driveshaft with 7290 (large) u-joints, new windshield, new window rubber, Denso starter and Delco Remy alternator. The engine compartment, frame, rear axle housing tube and front axle were treated with POR15 (shiny black). Brake backing plates and cylinders were done with POR high temp gray. Much more was done in the little things department, as in soon to have on powder coated police 15" rims.
