I'm going to paint the car, and I've manged to remove the trim above the doors. It had a vinyl roof, so I need to get all the trim off. The trim around the front and back windows seems more secure, and I didn't want to pry too hard. Any advice on how to get off the remaining trim?

By the way, a couple of the plastic trim holders broke removing the other trim, really brittle after all these years. Any sources of replacement?

I found that useing a bottle opener and being very careful works best.

Go to your local parts house and buy a cheap window trim removal tool. It's a thin metal tool that looks a lot like a large flat arrow head with a handle. The tool slips under the edge of the trim piece, between it and the rubber seal. Slide it along the bottom of the trim until you catch a trim hold-down clip, then rock the tool sideways against the tip of the arrow to pry the spring clip up slightly. With your other hand, pull the trim up and away from the clip.

Sounds easy, huh? Takes a little trial and error. Don't just try to pull the trim off without the tool. You'll mess up the lip on the back side of the trim, or worse, kink or bend the trim.
