Thanks for the quick replies. For now, I will stick with the brand new carb that we put on it last Fall. 2nd question to board..... My stepvan has a 4-speed manual trans in it. I would like to swap it for an automatic. Any done this with the slant six? Any thing I need to know while scouring the internet for one? Thanks a bunch guys, Karl |

I hope you kept the old carb. My Holley 1920 had sat for twenty years. I bought a rebuild kit for it and it works fine. 2nd question to board..... My stepvan has a 4-speed manual trans in it. Thanks a bunch guys, Karl Were the two cylinders with low compression next to each other(2&3/5&6, etc)? If so, a head gasket may be all your engine needs. I'd be looking for parts in forums that cover step vans. You might be able to find everything you need from one source, or a donor van. |
