Forgive the "bitterness", Mopardemon.

It is not that anyone is really bitter, they've just been down this "We can offer an aluminum, high performance, slant six head" road too many times, only to find (after hours of driving) that the bridge was out.

The "bridge" is basic economics: It takes tons of man-hours to build a custom product. If you can sell enough of them, you can get your money back. If you can't, then each one you sell will actually cost you money as it goes out the door. Either that or you have to sell it for such an exhorbitant price that very few can afford it.

As contrary as it sounds to market economics, the only way to get an alloy slant six head off the ground may be to just create the thing and offer it at a sacrifice (read: loss) price... and hope that you gain enough noteriety with it that demand rises and you can make your money back (plus eventually make a profit). If you have the money to gamble, then by all means go for it. You may very well have a market for them once they start showing up at the dragstrips.

Sometimes believing in something can help you beat the odds.

Regards - Mac
