sometime after warmup and a li'l abuse, my 904 "rattle-rattle-rattles" when geared in anything but P on idle speed to say 1.6k rpm. If I rev up the engine it keeps on increasing rattle sound cycling along with revs. If I shift onto P this sounds goes away. Any clue? freshly rebuil tranny, by the way.

thanks in advance.
Juan

Could be the flex plate has broke around one of the bolts that clamps it to the torque converter. Or perhaps one of the bolts is loose. You can check these symptoms by taking off the TQ dust cover. If its neither, then its inside..... :!:

none of that... ist's inside. got new flex plate, new bolts, pump seal, torque converter is super fine. My guess is that this has something to do with the park brake... but I dunno where it is.

Check the cover plate that it is not touching TC bolts. It is really near and can be little wounded. Just take it apart, start engine and listen.
