Hey

Since I rebuilt my brakes I got this annoying squeaking... I dropped by the mill shop where they did my drums a zillion times and te issue was still there, so the other day I jacked the car up and let it idle w/o the drum on. Turns out that the wheel end of the axle is false centered.

I was willing to get another gearing for the 8 1/4 but seems that I might as well just get another unit, maybe a disc brake conversion thing....

any recommendations?

I know before i change my rear drum brake shoes and hardware and then
after that it made a scraping squeal sound. i found the secondary
return spring was scraping inside the drum.
i fixed this by removing the drum and installing it reversed on the
wheel axle and placed washers on the stud and tightened the
lug nuts, this straightened the drum and no scraping sound.
