Might have to look for cars like Volare wagons or Early 80's trucks. Get the linkage from where you can and make something work. Mine on my 63 Dart (2bbl) is not all from one car but it does work good. If your car runs now and the kickdown works, it shouldn't be too hard, depending on the orientation of the new carb. Why not go to a supersix? Better, if you can find it. Might have luck buying one here.

The one bbl manifold will be restrictive for a 2bbl carb. I don't know what kind of car you have, but I can tell you the personallity of my 63 Dart changed when I went to a supersix intake. Might just look for getting the whole setup. You will be pleased. Also need throttle cable maybe.

What kind of car? What carburetor? It makes a difference.
If at all possible, get a two-barrel "Super Six" manifold, and the throttle linkage and kickdown from that car.

lokar cable for the kickdown. or you can just add some flat stock to your kickdown rod to make up for the adapter height. move your throttle cable up in the bracket . i'm running a holley 5200 with an adapter (73 swinger)and it runs great with a mpg increase from 13 to 19 and a lot more performance. if it's restricted as to flow it doesn't know it.

will the 318 kickdown work
No, the rod will be bent differently because a 318 has the carb in the center but a slant six is off to the right.

can i make it work?
Sure, it's just a piece of metal rod with connectors on each end. I've made my own from plain rod stock from home depot.

It helps that I do a little welding and I'm not afraid of fabrication (to make the end connectors). This ain't rocket science, you just need to push the little lever on the transmission back. Lockar will require some fab as well.

I'm sure i'm oversimplifing what's needed, but It's old hat after a while.
