Me n the dudes pulled the Valaints ancient motor today and started to assemble the new motor. 76 BH block and crank with 37000 miles...from a 76 1 1/2 ton dump truck,,,bored 30 over.....decked .060
The head is a 69 with 1.72/1.50 chev valves , springs ,,,,combustion chambers radiused,,,shaved .024 ( head cced ,,,,9:1 CR)

I want to use the 76 rocker gear on the 69 head but the rear bolt is different....I remember this but dont remember the cure,,,,can I just drill the shaft and use the 69 rear bolt?

Luckily I ran into Charlie S tonight on Early Valiant/Cuda Chat...and he confirmed what I had figured out....drill the shaft out and install the 69 bolt.
