Hello everybody,

In Doug's article about the 2.2 piston engine, he used the KB 239 piston with a .045 thick head gasket and the compression ratio was 10.15. I assumed the head and deck clearances were stock. My question is, what would the compression ratio be with a .020 head gasket? I don't have a "Dream Wheel" and I am not sure of the equation on a calculator. Could some one show me the full formula with the factors pluged in?

stock head cc
stock deck heigth
KB 239 piston
3.504 over bore
.020 head gasket

I need a baseline so I know how much the compression ratio will change after I have the machine shop unshroud the Ford valves. Your input will be greatly appreciated.

I hope everyone got some racer parts from Santa this year :D

You really need to find your actual chamber volumn and deck height to get an accurate compression ratio.
