I am going to buy a torque converter from continental soon. I have heard of people using a SB flexplate and oblonging one hole to bolt it on to the /6. What are the advantages to doing this? Is the bolt pattern different at the torque converter? Does it use larger bolts? What is the deal?

I did it because my converter had 7/16" bolts in it.

Is the bolt pattern different for a SB versus a slant six at the torque converter?
