Go with a Charger open style with blanked headlights or put a fiberglass beak on the front like the Plymouth Superbird :P maybe headlamps all across the front? or a 'braces/toothy' grill like a 50's Desoto or Mercury whatever? um... maybe not that. I vaguely remember the movie Mad Max had some neat designs whatever they were.

Haven't yet. I'd make a grille from metal tubing, maybe stainless. All you would need to do is make some brackets where the grille center (and parking lamps) bolt in, and bend and attach the tubing. One of these days, I'd like to do that for my '68 Dart. Then rectangular headlamps would be possible.

The 68 grill is awesome the wat it is , but I admire you lust for making your baby want to sparkle. I have a 68 2door in the garage beached like a dead whale.

Patrick,
What you need is an Aussie VE Valiant grill. They use the same front clip as a US '67-'69 Dart and have a horizontal "tube" looking grill with the parking lights in the bumper.

Custom look, factory parts. 8)

i always liked the kustom "knob" grills late 50s rides and 60s show rods would do. so i was looking at my 66s grill, and figured you can cut out the horisontal bars, but leave the little tabs that connect it to the surround. Then take a piece of expanded metal, cut to shape,(dont forget to leave a space for the hood latch) paint it black so it blends in, then bolt it onto the little tabs. Once thats done, go to Home Depot, find a chrome kitchen door knob you like, or a drawer pull, pick out as many as you want (leave enough holes for air to get through) and start screwing them in til your fingers bleed :D

I used to run a VE grill in a '69 Dart here...sold the car and kept the grill if you wanted any up close looks at the grill, just holler and I will get some pics.
I think it would work better on a '68 then the 9, since the headlamps are sunk in a little more in 68, but it still did fit. I had to trim the hood latch support a little from memory on the '69 as well to fit the VE grill.

Now I just have the entire car..just imported a VG with the square headlamps, kinda cooler looking again then the VE I think 8)
