I'm trying to figure out why I got a 2bbl manifold on a 70 -72 exhaust.

2barrels were offere in the late 60s on marine and export engines. Two barrels weren't offered again until 1978-1982. Most likely somebody swapped a Super Six intake onto the 72 exhaust.

1967 through 1987 (export outside US/Canada)

1976-1980 (cars, US/Canada)

1976-1982 (trucks/vans, US/Canada)

Remember, all intakes and all exhausts physically interchange, so anyone can swap anything onto anything.
