The 1963 a body needs a new engine, and I have a 1974 gold duster for parts. Will a later slant 6 bolt up to a push button trans? What would I have to change to make it work?

You'll need to use the 1963 oil pan and oil pickup tube. You'll also need the ¼" adaptor ring for the later engine to work with the early torque converter -- you can get the ring from tflitepatty@verizon.net .
