Is the OEM aluminum 1 barrel manifold okay to use for EFI. Mine is the one piece non-welded casting. I'd like to send this out to have bungs welded in and a fuel rail made to match.

Is any shop recommended to do good work ?

I don't see any direct problems... question is, why bother with a one barrel manifold though? What throttle body are you planning to use? If your going to use the carb as a throttle body, how will you mount a TPS and possibly IAC?

I would try to get your hands on a cliffy/offy 4bbl unit to modify, that way you'll have more throttle body choices or at least room for expansion.
