We set-out to run a 12 or blow-up the engine trying, we blew-up the engine  :o :x

Would have had that 12 if I did not space-out at the starting line, I forgot to hold the NOS activation button in my hand
I opened the bottle, turned-on the system and staged-in, launched the car and had to go grabbing for the button after the car was moving  Got the spray going about 2/3 through first gear and ran the 13.09

We cranked another 4 degrees of advance into it for the next pass, (was at 25, went to 29 degrees total) The car took-off like a shot but went flat and smoked at half track. :( Burned the tips off of 3 sparkplugs (1,2 & 4) and the engine seized-up solid after it cooled down

I will post more info. in my Cuda thread along with some pics. I have to get a micro switch trigger mounted to the carb.

Doc,
What size fuel and nitrous jets are you running? What is your "flowing" fuel pressure? Just curious, why you burned plugs. Also what heat range on the plugs?

The plugs were hot, Champion N14Y that I have had in this engine from the start.

I stepped-up the Jetting on the system, I first used #18 NOS, #20 fuel.
I bought a set of #21 and swapped to #20 NOS, #21 fuel.
Fuel Pressure seems to flow at 5-6 lbs but I still need to play with that some. The regulator "creeps" when I arm the system, I saw it up to 12 psi right when I first hit the button then it slowly drops back to the set pressure. There is work to be done to make the fuel system work better and keep a more consistent pressure, may-be add a fuel return loop or a high / low fuel pressure on-off circuit to cycle the fuel pump as needed.

We had the combo running good, we should have left the timing at 26 degrees total. (91 octane pump gas) It was when we turned-up the timing to 29 degrees and ran the next pass at high engine temp. (no cool down time) that is when we burned the engine up.

I've had problems with fluctuating pressures, too. Please let us know how you solve them.
I have one of those remote fuel press guages in my car, and I was told you have to vent them occasionally to 'calibrate them'. Have you ever heard of that? Or is that only necessary for large changes in elevation?
