Build a 16 second Slant and hit it with a 100 shot of spray.

14's aren't too hard on motor. You just have to use a sensible plan. Bolting in a big cam and leaving everything else stock isn't going to do it.

You need most of all a good head. Bigger valves and bowl porting are a good place to start. The rest is just a good balance of compression, cam, intake, carb, headers, etc.

The you need a good converter and trans if you run an automatic.

Upgrade the rear with some decent gears, my favorite is a 3.91.

Then, make the car as light as safely possible.

You can also easily spray a 14 second Slant into the 12's.

I picked up 2 seconds With my head When I went from a stock one to a worked one with Big Valves - This is true for a Turbo or a N/A Motor.

Eliminating All uneccsary Weight Will help too - Espically if it's a Drag Only car!!

Good head, weight reduction wherever possible, decent and or low gear set in the back and then you wont be to far off. A nice cam and converter will work wonders as well.

Get the weight down to about 2,700 lbs or less. The less weight the faster/easier it will be.
What will be the purpose of the car? Street only, street and ocasional track, mostly track, or dedicated race car? You need to define the perameters.
