first, loved the article on turbo charging the /6, got me convinced to go for it on my 63 Valiant. I have a question. The article suggests to increase the jets 14 sizes, but I plan on doing the super six set up at the same time. Can anyone suggest the appropriate jet increase when using the super six carb?
Thanks, Dan the reptile man.

hello dan I run a turbo on my slant six. I would like to ask want are your plans for the car. because the way to go is a 600 cfm holley dp. the reason for that is you can jet the carb with small primaries, then when the boost comes in the secondaries deliver the extra fuel. Are you going to intercool the turbo? Is there anything done to the motor?

wow! I don't think my fingers even left the keys before I got a response! As of right now, the 225 is all stock. I'm not sure how far I'll go with it. The carb needs some work, so I thought I would just replace it. I use the 63 Valiant as a demo for a high end stereo system, and it is my daily driver. (I'm a custom fabricator at a stereo shop) I do fiber glass molding, electroplating, electroforming, and powder coating as well, so whatever I do, I'm gona make it look cool. We recently joined up with a small "bolt on" performance shop, and I should confess that I sure would like show the Honda boyz what a slant can do! Would the Holley require any other modifications, and could I find what I need at the bone yard, if so, in what? Anything else I do would probably be done over the winter to avoid down time.
Thanks, Dan the reptile man.

read the post I just put up this morning cecil county drags, I have the times that ran my stock engine in the 1/4 mile. the engine has over 100,000 miles on it still runs great. I wrote a little piece on how to modify the carb that I can send you. As for parts I got my turbo for 50$ from a salvage yard. there are some other parts that you have to buy like the timing control 162$ from summit and a maybe a hotter iginion which you can get a msd iginion with the timing control built in. And I have a exhaust manifold that is already modified for the to3 turbo from a 2.2 or 2.5 dodge 4 banger. It is the one that I am using now but I have a costom intake and a tube header for a bigger turbo that I am switching to in a week or 2. My dad owns a sheet metal shop and machine shop.

Andrew,

Could you send me the information on the carb modifications too? I met you up at Carlisle and seen you at the drags.A friend and I were passing the word among the spectators that this "quiet" car was actually a turbo slant six! They all were pretty impressed!

I'm not sure I'll ever go to a turbo, but with what your stock engine is running, It sure is tempting!

Thanks,

Rick
