As a new owner off a 64 slant,Iwas luky enough to find this web site,I was first thinking of putting a 8 in my car,and after finding this site I am concedering biulding a strong 6 instead.My # on my engine is 2463430 I think thats a 170 ci. but im not sure, should I start with a 225,and will it fit in my car.would apriciat any help .[img]img_0432.JPG[/img] |

Welcome aboard. Tell us about your car so we can enjoy it too! According to Doug's chart, that casting number is for an early to mid-60's RG block, or 225. I'd start with whatever is in the car. A lot of the work and goodies will swap from one slant to the other - heads, manifolds, etc. Read the articles, do some searches, post, and enjoy! |

A 4-speed SL6 is a fun combo, they are fun to drive. Your block is an 'RG', basically a 3 freeze plug (60-67) 225. Is the car running? What is the biggest problem with it? DD |

The car is running but a real smoker, Oil leaking and burning it as well;hoping to get a piture up but still working on that. I would love to pull the engine and rebuild it I just put it on jackes today. Still looking around at the site to see what the best options are ,Thinking I would love to be in the 14 in,s |
