Hi to all.

This is my first post here so I hope it is in the right spot. I am going to install the super six stuff on my 1974 Duster. My question is which muffler would be a good one. I have read that I need to change the exhaust size to 2.25 in. Would bigger be better? What type, size, or brand would be the best muffler for this project?

I like my oval Magnaflow alot. Not loud at crusing, lets you know its there when you get on it.

I like the Thrush Welded muffler for $29.00. It is a chambered free flowing muffler. Not loud during cruise, until you get on it.

The real super six exhaust is 2 1/4" to the muffler and then 1 7/8" out the tail pipe. From what i've read it sounds like 2 1/2" can give you a bit of a drone and doesn't affect mileage for the better or worse. I don't know if anyone has actually tested the mileage deal or if its just speculation. You might have to search the forums for that.

My truck and van use the 2.25" pipe for a more HP when hauling loads.

On my Dart mileage improvement for me has been 1.5 miles per gallon over the stock pipe. I just don't need to keep my foot in it as much, and my vacuum at cruise is about 3 pounds higher.

It also gives you allot quicker response when you need to pass or when you merge on the freeway. Getting up to speed is improved greatly.
