I know a guy local to me that has one of these setups with two like new 1920 carbs. The setup has the intake polished, with complete Heim joint linkage, Chrome air cleaners with two matching 1920's that look fairly new. He said he send the carbs off and had them setup, wet flowed and calibrated as a pair. Then it was tuned on the car after install. He is trying to sale them to me but I dont know if there worth what he is asking. I drove the car they are on and I will have to say its one of the best running setups I have driven.

I already have one of these setups but its got duel Weber 32/36's and its going on my 68 Cuda. I have never used them with two one barrel's but his setup worked extremely good & very smooth. I guess all the work & money he spent on them would make any setup work good, I thought I might pick them up for my other slant six car which is still running a one barrel but I didnt want to buy them if they want bring my money back if I went to sale them later. I really wanted to put EFI on the Dart which is the car I would put this new setup on if I got it, but it may be next year or longer before I can go EFI.

He trying to get $650.00 out of the setup and after driving and looking at it there is no doute he has probably got more than that in it. But is it worth it?

I dont consider myself "cheap" but that sounds High. I would think for a good used set-up $500 would be more in line.
IMHO

$650 does seem steep, but the challenge with the intake is finding the right carbs to match up. That took some doing on ebay for me. But there is a 2x2bbl on ebay right now for less. Polished is nice, sounds good, but that seems high to me as well.

I would consider that to be a bit steep, unless he has the documentation to show who/how the carbs were recalibrated/flowed to make sure that he just saved you a whole bunch of headaches trying to get things matched (reputable carb shop work isn't cheap and it pays in dividends later... just getting them flowed and the shop just changed a jet and said good is asking for trouble later...)

Yea he had docs of the work. He is one of these guys that doesnt mess around will stuff not setup right, he has a lot of high dollar cars. Oh well it doesnt matter I went back to talk to him and someone else done snagged it up. I wasnt to willing to spend and buy for a second setup right now anyway but I have played with setting up carbs and you can get into way more than you expect real quick. I would guess that most people that dont like duel setups is becuase they never got a set right which does take a lot of work. ALso one persons idea of right want come close to others idea of right. FOr me its got to work all the way across the board, hot, cold, WOT, cruizing and easy driving. IF my wife or mom cant drive it I am still working on it. Thats part of why I was considering it because I had seen the setup working as should. Anyway, like I said it doesnt matter now its gone.
