Are any of the "fast" slant 6 guys(11.50 or quicker) running a 727 trans? Are they all running 904's?

I have always run 904's with all the V8 999 "inners" and never have a bit of trouble.
I know of a few V8 racers who also run the 999, they say it make the car .2 quicker due to less weight and less mass to spin.

I have heard that too but about a year ago one of the Mopar mag did a article that swapped a 904 and 727 behind a small block. They basically said there was not the loss of ET that most people thought. Wish I had saved the article. I was just curious if the guys running 10's and low 11's were having trans problems out of 904's.

All the SL6 racers I see running automatics are using the smaller 904. (one "Maverick" was running a powerglide but saw the light and switched back to the 904)

As for the biggest problem we see, it is with busted front pumps and / or torque converter neck. (hub)
